## Biography

Ronny Graham (1919–1999) was an American actor, writer, composer and lyricist. Born Ronald Montcrief Stringer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he began performing in vaudeville as a child with his parents and later worked as a nightclub comic. He made his Broadway debut in the revue *New Faces of 1952*, contributing sketches and lyrics.

Graham wrote seven episodes of the series *M*A*S*H* (1972) and guest-starred in one. He collaborated with Mel Brooks on the screenplays for *To Be or Not to Be* (1983) and *Spaceballs* (1987), appearing in both as well as in *History of the World: Part I* (1981) and other Brooks films. He received a Tony Award nomination for his lyrics to the musical *Bravo Giovanni* (1962) and directed several Broadway plays.
