## Biography

Ronny Schalk is a German screenwriter. He studied media and communication science at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and screenwriting at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg. He has worked as a freelance writer since 2008.

Schalk wrote the screenplay for the feature film *Wir wollten aufs Meer* (2012). He contributed to the writers’ room for the first two seasons of the Netflix series *Dark* (2017–2019) and served as head writer on *Oktoberfest: Beer & Blood* (2020). The first season of *Dark* received the Grimme-Preis for best screenplay in 2018.
