Rosa Salazar is an American actress. She was born on 16 July 1985 in Washington, D.C., and raised in nearby Greenbelt, Maryland. She attended Eleanor Roosevelt High School and studied drama at Prince George's Community College before training further at the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City. She began appearing in CollegeHumor sketches and made her feature film debut in Jamesy Boy (2014).

Salazar had recurring roles in the series Parenthood (2011–2012) and American Horror Story: Murder House (2011). She appeared in The Divergent Series: Insurgent (2015), Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) and Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018). Her breakthrough came as the title character in Alita: Battle Angel (2019). She starred in Brand New Cherry Flavor (2021), which she also co-produced, and in Undone (2019–2022).
