Ross Alexander (born Alexander Ross Smith, Jr.) was an American stage and film actor. He was born on 27 July 1907 in Brooklyn, New York, and began his career on Broadway in the 1920s before making his film debut in *The Wiser Sex* (1932).

Signed by Warner Bros. in 1934, he appeared in a series of films including *Flirtation Walk* (1934), in which he played Oskie Berry. He is also known for his roles as Demetrius in *A Midsummer Night's Dream* (1935) and Jeremy Pitt in *Captain Blood* (1935).

Alexander died on 2 January 1937 in Los Angeles, California.
