## Biography

Ross Katz is an American film producer, screenwriter and director. Born in Philadelphia on 19 May 1971, he began in the industry as a grip on Quentin Tarantino's *Reservoir Dogs* (1992) after dropping out of film school. He later worked at the independent production company Good Machine in New York, producing his first features there.

Katz co-produced Todd Field's *In the Bedroom* (2001) and Sofia Coppola's *Lost in Translation* (2003), both nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. He also produced Coppola's *Marie Antoinette* (2006). In 2009 he made his directorial debut with the HBO film *Taking Chance*, which he co-wrote; the project earned him Directors Guild of America and Writers Guild of America awards. Subsequent directorial credits include *Adult Beginners* (2014) and *The Choice* (2016).
