## Biography

Rotem Shamir is an Israeli writer, director and producer. He graduated in film studies from the New School University in New York.

He created the Israeli series *Bnei Aruba* (2013–2016), also known as *Hostages*, and served as its writer and director. Shamir directed the second season of *Fauda* (2017–2020) and co-created *Rough Diamonds* (2023) and *Line in the Sand* (2021). He has also directed episodes of *Hit & Run* (2021) and the film *Rescue Bus 300* (2018).

His television work has received awards from the Israeli Television Academy, including for best directing on *Fauda*, and a Golden Umbrella award for *Bnei Aruba*.
