## Biography

Rudi Fehr was a German-born American film editor and studio executive. Born in Berlin in 1911, he began working in the film industry there before fleeing Nazi Germany in the 1930s. He moved via Vienna and London to Hollywood in 1936, where he joined Warner Bros. as an assistant editor.

Fehr edited more than thirty feature films for Warner Bros. over four decades, including *Key Largo* (1948), *I Confess* (1953), *House of Wax* (1953) and *Dial M for Murder* (1954). He served as head of post-production at the studio from 1955 to 1976.

After retiring from Warner Bros., Fehr worked with Francis Ford Coppola's American Zoetrope and co-edited *One from the Heart* (1982) and *Prizzi's Honor* (1985). He received an Academy Award nomination for the latter, shared with his daughter Kaja Fehr. He died in Hollywood in 1999.
