## Biography

Russell Hornsby is an American actor. He graduated with a BFA in theatre from Boston University and continued his studies at the British American Drama Academy in Oxford.

Hornsby is known for his television roles as Eddie Sutton in *Lincoln Heights* (2007–2009) and Detective Hank Griffin in *Grimm* (2011–2017). His film credits include Lyons Maxson in *Fences* (2016), Maverick Carter in *The Hate U Give* (2018) and Buddy Marcelle in *Creed II* (2018). He has also appeared in stage productions, winning a Drama Desk Award and an Obie Award for his role in the 2000 Off-Broadway revival of *Jitney*.
