## Biography

Russell Streiner is an American actor and film producer. He is best known for playing Johnny in *Night of the Living Dead* (1968), which he also co-produced with Karl Hardman.

Streiner co-founded the production company The Latent Image with George A. Romero in the early 1960s, initially making commercials and industrial films in Pittsburgh. He later produced *There's Always Vanilla* (1971) and *The Booby Hatch* (1976), and served as executive producer on the 1990 remake of *Night of the Living Dead*, in which he made an uncredited cameo as Sheriff McClelland.

He has remained based in Pittsburgh throughout his career and has served as chairman of the board of the Pittsburgh Film Office.
