## Biography

Rusty Cundieff is an American film and television director, writer and actor. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he graduated from the University of Southern California and became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. He began his career as an actor, appearing in Spike Lee's *School Daze* (1988), before moving into writing and directing.

Cundieff is known for directing and writing the rap satire *Fear of a Black Hat* (1993) and the horror anthology *Tales from the Hood* (1995), as well as directing episodes of *Chappelle's Show* (2003–2006). He directed a segment of the anthology comedy *Movie 43* (2013) and later features including *Tales from the Hood 2* (2018), *57 Seconds* (2023) and *Meet Me Next Christmas* (2024). He has also worked as a correspondent on *TV Nation*.
