His film roles included Bob LaPorte in *Bigger Than Life* (1956), Danny McKeogh in *The Harder They Fall* (1956) and Samuel Adams in *Johnny Tremain* (1957). He was frequently cast as judges, sheriffs and other authority figures in series such as *The Twilight Zone*, *Batman*, *Perry Mason* and *Gunsmoke*.
