## Biography

Salvatore Argento was an Italian film producer. He produced Dario Argento's directorial debut *The Bird with the Crystal Plumage* (1970), as well as *The Cat o' Nine Tails* (1971), *Four Flies on Grey Velvet* (1971), *Deep Red* (1975), *Suspiria* (1977), *Inferno* (1980) and *Tenebrae* (1982). He also produced films by other directors including Sergio Corbucci and Mauro Bolognini.

Argento was the father of directors Dario Argento and Claudio Argento. He died in Rome in 1987.
