Sam Egan is an American television writer, producer and journalist. His credits include writing and producing for series such as *Quincy, M.E.*, *The Fall Guy*, *Northern Exposure* (1990), *The Outer Limits* (1995), *Sanctuary* (2008) and *Jeremiah*.

As a journalist, Egan has written for *Rolling Stone* and edited the arts magazine *The Every Other Weekly*. He is the son of a Holocaust survivor; the *The Outer Limits* episode "Tribunal" drew on his father's experiences in Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Egan has received an Emmy nomination and other awards, including a Leo Award nomination for his work on *Sanctuary* and a Literacy in the Media Award for an episode of *Jeremiah*.
