## Biography

Sam McCurdy is a British cinematographer and member of the American Society of Cinematographers and the British Society of Cinematographers. He served as director of photography on the pilot episode of the Apple TV+ series *Smoke* (2025).

His television credits include *Shōgun* (2024), for which he received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Cinematography for a Series (One Hour) and an ASC Award; *Game of Thrones* (2011); *Lost in Space* (2018–2021); *Peacemaker* (2022); and *Monarch: Legacy of Monsters* (2023). Film credits include *The Descent* (2005) and *Doomsday* (2008). McCurdy has collaborated with director Neil Marshall on several projects, including *Dog Soldiers* (2002) and the *Game of Thrones* episode "Blackwater," for which he received a British Society of Cinematographers nomination.
