## Biography

Sam Rolfe was an American screenwriter and producer. Born Samuel Harris Rosenbaum on 18 February 1924 in New York City, he died on 10 July 1993 in Los Angeles.

Rolfe wrote the screenplay for the Western *The Naked Spur* (1953), which received an Academy Award nomination. With Herb Meadow he co-created the CBS series *Have Gun – Will Travel* (1957) and he created the NBC series *The Man from U.N.C.L.E.* (1964). He contributed to *The Twilight Zone* (1959) with a script outline for the episode 'A Quality of Mercy'.

His later credits included episodes of *Quantum Leap* (1989), *Star Trek: The Next Generation* (1987) and *Star Trek: Deep Space Nine* (1993).
