## Biography

Sameer Phaterpekar is an Indian score composer who has worked on Hindi, Marathi and Tamil films. He began his career as a musician in 1983, collaborating with composers including R. D. Burman, Kalyanji-Anandji, Rajesh Roshan and Laxmikant–Pyarelal, and played guitar on the song "Hawa Hawaii" for *Mr. India* (1987). In 2002 he began working independently as a composer, releasing his first album *Khoobsurat* with lyricist Anand Bakshi.

Phaterpekar scored the National Film Award-winning film *Dombivli Fast* (2005). He has maintained a long collaboration with director Nishikant Kamat, providing scores for *Evano Oruvan* (2007), *Mumbai Meri Jaan* (2008), *Force* (2011), *Drishyam* (2015) and *Madaari* (2016). His other credits include the web series *Criminal Justice* (2019).
