Sanaa McCoy Lathan is an American actress. She was born on 19 September 1971 in New York City, the daughter of actress Eleanor McCoy and film and television director Stan Lathan. She earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master's degree in drama from Yale University.

Lathan's film roles include Vanessa Brooks in *Blade* (1998), Monica Wright in *Love & Basketball* (2000), Ann Merai Harrison in *Out of Time* (2003), Alexa Woods in *AVP: Alien vs. Predator* (2004), and Aubrey Cheever in *Contagion* (2011).
