## Biography

Sandro De Feo was an Italian screenwriter, journalist and writer. Born in Modugno, Puglia, he studied law in Rome and began working as a film and literary critic for newspapers including Il Messaggero and Corriere della Sera. From the 1930s he wrote screenplays for Cines and later contributed to films by directors such as Roberto Rossellini, Mario Soldati and Augusto Genina.

His screenwriting credits include *Europa '51* (1952), *Tre storie proibite* (1952) and *La provinciale* (1953). He served on the jury of the Venice Film Festival on several occasions, including in 1952. De Feo also published three novels and won the Premiolino journalism prize in 1961.
