## Biography

Sandy Dennis was an American actress. She made her film debut in *Splendor in the Grass* (1961) and appeared as Honey in *Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?* (1966), for which she received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

On stage she won Tony Awards for Best Featured Actress in a Play for *A Thousand Clowns* and for Best Actress in a Play for *Any Wednesday*. She also appeared in the original Broadway production of *Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean*.

Her other film roles include *Up the Down Staircase* (1967), *The Out-of-Towners* (1970), *God Told Me To* (1976), *The Four Seasons* (1981), *Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean* (1982), *Another Woman* (1988) and *The Indian Runner* (1991).
