## Biography

Sarah Burgess is an American playwright and screenwriter. Her stage works include the satirical play *Dry Powder*, which premiered at the Public Theater in New York in 2016 and received a Laurence Olivier Award nomination, and *Kings*.

Burgess expanded into television as head writer, showrunner and executive producer of the third season of the anthology series *American Crime Story*, subtitled *Impeachment* (2021). She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for the season. She has also contributed to series including *Purity* and *Lodge 49*.
