## Biography

Satoshi Nikaido (二階堂 智) is a Japanese actor born in Tokyo on 25 March 1966. He graduated from Wako University and trained at the Furano Juku acting school as a member of its sixth intake. He made his film debut in *The Last Samurai* (2003) and appeared as Kenji Mamiya in *Babel* (2006).

Nikaido has worked extensively in Japanese cinema and television, with credits including *Guilty of Romance* (2011), *Space Battleship Yamato* (2010), *Sadako* (2019) and the series *Drops of God* (2023). His sister, Chiju Nikaido, is also an actress. In 2023 he received an acting award at the Tanabe Benkei Film Festival.
