## Biography

Scott Capurro is an American comedian, writer and actor born in San Francisco on 10 December 1962. He is based in San Francisco and performs stand-up material that often addresses gay life and culture, politics, race and popular culture.

His film credits include the role of Jack in *Mrs. Doubtfire* (1993) and the voice of Beed Annodue in *Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace* (1999). He also appeared in the television series *Nash Bridges*. In 1994 Capurro won the Perrier Award for best newcomer at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for his solo show *Risk-Gay*.

He has written and performed numerous one-man shows and has stage credits including Emory in *The Boys in the Band* (1990) at Theater Rhinoceros. Capurro trained at UC Irvine, where he received a bachelor's degree, and at Birmingham University in the UK.
