## Biography

Scott Kosar is an American screenwriter and producer known for work in the horror and thriller genres. He wrote the screenplay for *The Machinist* (2004) while attending the graduate screenwriting programme at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. He later wrote the screenplays for the 2003 remake of *The Texas Chain Saw Massacre* and the 2005 remake of *The Amityville Horror*.

Kosar received the Distinguished Achievement in Screenwriting Award from UCLA in 2006 and served as the Hunter/Zakin screenwriting chair at the school in 2009–2010. His other credits include the screenplay for *The Crazies* (2010) and writing and producing work on the television series *Bates Motel* (2013–2017) and *The Haunting of Hill House* (2018).
