## Biography

Scott Lasser is a writer and novelist. He served as a staff writer on the second season of the HBO series *True Detective* (2014), co-writing the episodes 'Down Will Come' and 'Church in Ruins' (both 2015) with creator Nic Pizzolatto. Lasser is the only writer credited alongside Pizzolatto on that season.

A resident of Colorado, Lasser previously worked as a stockbroker before publishing novels including *Battle Creek* (1999) and *All I Could Get* (2002). He holds an MFA from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the Wharton School, and met Pizzolatto while both were teaching at the Aspen Summer Words literary conference.
