## Biography

Sean Foley is a British actor, writer and director. Born on 21 November 1964 in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, he began in theatre as a performer and co-writer with the company The Right Size before moving into directing.

His feature-film directing debut was the comedy *Mindhorn* (2016). He has directed numerous stage productions, including adaptations of *The Ladykillers* and *The Man in the White Suit*, and served as Artistic Director of Birmingham Repertory Theatre. Foley is a double Olivier Award winner and Tony nominee.

In 2024–2025 he co-adapted (with Armando Iannucci) and directed the first stage version of Stanley Kubrick’s *Dr. Strangelove*, which premiered in the West End starring Steve Coogan and was recorded for National Theatre Live. He also appeared as John Lane in Kenneth Branagh’s *All Is True* (2018).
