Sebastian Armesto is an English actor born on 3 June 1982. He is the son of historian Felipe Fernández-Armesto and was educated at Eton College.

Armesto has appeared in numerous film and television roles, including Charles V in *The Tudors* (2007), King Ferdinand in *Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides* (2011), Ben Jonson in *Anonymous* (2011), Lieutenant Mitaka in *Star Wars: The Force Awakens* (2015), and Clive Lucas in *Broadchurch* (2013). Other credits include *Little Dorrit* (2008), *Poldark* (2016), *The Terror* (2018), *Cursed* (2020) and *Gangs of London* (2020).

He has performed in theatre productions at the National Theatre and Royal Court, and writes and directs for the company Simple 8.
