## Biography

Selton Mello, also credited as Selton Figueiredo Melo, is a Brazilian actor and filmmaker. Born on 30 December 1972 in Passos, Minas Gerais, he began his career as a child actor in Brazilian television soap operas during the 1980s and later moved into film.

He gained national recognition for his role as Chicó in *A Dog's Will* (2000) and as Leléu in *Lisbela and the Prisoner* (2003). Mello has also directed films, including *The Clown* (2011), in which he starred. In 2024 he portrayed Rubens Paiva in Walter Salles’s *I'm Still Here*. His brother, Danton Mello, is also an actor.
