## Biography

Sepp Ketterer, born Josef Ketterer, was a German-born Austrian cinematographer. Born on 11 February 1899 in Altglashütten, Baden-Württemberg, he trained in photography after primary and trade school. An active skier and photographer, he worked as a camera assistant or subordinate cameraman from 1930, contributing to Leni Riefenstahl's *Olympia* (1938).

After the Second World War, Ketterer worked as chief cinematographer on numerous Austrian Heimatfilme and comedies. His credits include *Der Förster vom Silberwald* (1954) and other films made between the late 1940s and 1968. He died on 11 January 1991 in Vienna.
