## Biography

Serge Rezvani is a French composer, songwriter, painter and writer. Born Cyrus Rezvani in Tehran, Iran, on 23 March 1928, he moved to France as a child with his mother.

He is known for songs written under the pseudonym Cyrus Bassiak or Bassiak. His song *Le Tourbillon* was performed by Jeanne Moreau in François Truffaut’s *Jules and Jim* (1962), in which Rezvani appeared as Albert, credited as Boris Bassiak. He also contributed songs to *Pierrot le fou* (1965).

Rezvani has written numerous novels, plays and poetry collections, and more than 150 songs.
