Setsuo Kobayashi (1920–2006) was a Japanese cinematographer. He joined the film industry after graduating from Keio University of Commerce and Industry in 1940, working initially at Nikkatsu before serving in the military and returning to Daiei in 1946. He became freelance following the studio's bankruptcy in 1971.

Kobayashi worked frequently with directors including Kon Ichikawa and Yasuzo Masumura. His credits include *Fires on the Plain* (1959), *An Actor's Revenge* (1963), *Manji* (1964), *Red Angel* (1966) and *Blind Beast* (1969).
