## Biography

Seymour Hersh is an American investigative journalist and political writer. He began his career in the 1960s after studying at the University of Chicago and working for the Chicago City News Bureau, later joining the Associated Press and The New York Times.

Hersh gained prominence in 1969 for exposing the My Lai massacre and its cover-up during the Vietnam War, for which he received the 1970 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting. His reporting has also covered the Watergate scandal, CIA activities and the Abu Ghraib prison scandal. He appears as himself in the 2025 documentary *Cover-Up*, directed by Laura Poitras and Mark Obenhaus.
