Born on 20 March 1979 in Fairfax, Virginia, she began her career working as a first assistant director and producer on independent films, including *A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night* (2014), *The Bad Batch* (2017), *The Little Hours* (2017) and *Zola* (2021).

Davani has directed episodes of several television series, notably *Abbott Elementary* (2021–), for which she also served as first assistant director, *Not Dead Yet* (2023), *Killing It* (2022–2023), *Home Economics* (2022) and *Everything's Trash* (2022). She directed the short film *All of You* (2021). She received a Peabody Award in 2023 as part of the *Abbott Elementary* team.
