## Biography

Shani Wallis is an English actress and singer. Born on 14 April 1933 in Tottenham, London, she trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art on a scholarship and made her West End debut in 1952 in *Call Me Madam* at the London Coliseum.

She is best known for playing Nancy in the 1968 film *Oliver!*. Her other screen credits include *A King in New York* (1957), voice work as Lady Mouse in *The Great Mouse Detective* (1986), and television appearances in *Columbo* (1971) and *Charlie's Angels* (1976). She has performed in theatre in both the UK and the United States.

Wallis became a naturalised US citizen and has lived there for many years. She is an Honorary Patron of The Music Hall Guild of Great Britain and America.
