## Biography

Shigeru Saiki is a Japanese actor born on 18 November 1949 in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture. He attended Waseda University, leaving before graduation, and began his career in the early 1970s.

Saiki is a founding member of the comedy trio City Boys, formed in 1979 with Makoto Otake and Kitaro. He has appeared in numerous television dramas, often playing serious father figures, and in tokusatsu series. His film credits include the role of the toastmaster in Takashi Miike’s *Audition* (1999) and The Artist in *Guinea Pig: Mermaid in the Manhole* (1988).
