## Biography

Silke Buhr is a German production designer. Born on 26 October 1966 in Löhne, she completed a carpentry apprenticeship, studied interior architecture at Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe and gained a postgraduate qualification in film and television production design at FH Rosenheim in cooperation with the Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München.

She has worked as a production designer since 1997. Her credits include *The Lives of Others* (2006), *Who Am I* (2014), *Never Look Away* (2018) and *Berlin Alexanderplatz* (2020). She received the German Film Prize for best production design for *The Lives of Others*, *Poll* (2010/2011), *Who Am I* and *Berlin Alexanderplatz*.

Buhr teaches production design at institutions including the Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. She is a member of the German Film Academy and was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2019.
