## Biography

Silver Tip Baker (1886–1943) was an American actor who appeared in more than 100 minor, often uncredited roles in films, predominantly B-westerns.

Born Floyd Michael Baker in Texas, he began as a trick rider in rodeos and wild west shows, including the Miller Brothers 101 Ranch, before entering films in the silent era. His first screen role was as General Grenville M. Dodge in the 1922 serial *In the Days of Buffalo Bill*. He became known for portraying white-haired character parts such as townsmen and barflies.

Among his credits are *Blue Steel* (1934) as a townsman, *Of Mice and Men* (1939) as the Old Hand (uncredited), and *Destry Rides Again* (1939) as a barfly (uncredited). He was married to fellow trick rider Mabel Baker.
