## Biography

Simon Dennis is a British cinematographer. He graduated with a first-class honours degree in film and television studies from Napier Film School in Scotland. He began his career shooting music videos and won a Scottish BAFTA for his work on the short film *Sex & Death*.

His early feature credits include *The Last Great Wilderness* (2001) for director David Mackenzie and *The Sweeney* (2012). He shot episodes of *Doctor Who* (2005) and *Ripper Street* before working on *Peaky Blinders* (2013), for which he received a BAFTA Television Craft Award nomination for photography and lighting.

Dennis has shot features including *The Girl with All the Gifts* (2016) and *The Limehouse Golem* (2016), and series such as *Ratched* (2020), *POSE* (2018), *American Crime Story* (2016) and *Krypton* (2018). He joined the BSC in 2018 and the ASC in 2023.
