## Biography

Simon Hynd is a British television and film director. He began his career writing and directing short films, including the thriller *Virus* and the comedy *Tumshie McFadgen's Bid for Ultimate Bliss*, the latter of which won a BAFTA Scotland award for best short film. He also wrote and directed the feature film *Senseless* (2008).

Hynd has directed episodes of several British comedy series, including *Ghosts* (2019–2023), *Motherland* (2020–2022), *There She Goes* (2018–2020), *The Cockfields* (2021) and *Mammoth* (2024). He is the director of the comedy-drama series *Death Valley* (2025–), starring Timothy Spall. His work has earned BAFTA and Royal Television Society awards and nominations.
