## Biography

Skip Martin, born Derek George Horowitz on 28 March 1928 in Sydenham, London, was a British actor. He made his film debut in an uncredited role in *Saint Joan* (1957) and appeared in early films including *Corridors of Blood* (1958) and *The Hellfire Club* (1961).

Martin is known for his performance as Hop Toad in *The Masque of the Red Death* (1964). Other credits include *Circus of Fear* (1966) as Mr Big, the *Die Nibelungen* films (1966–1967) as Alberich, *Vampire Circus* (1972) as Michael, *Horror Hospital* (1973) as Frederick, and *Son of Dracula* (1973) as Igor. He also had television roles, including appearances in *The Goodies*. Between acting assignments he worked as a tobacconist. Martin died on 4 November 1984 in London.
