## Biography

Smriti Mundhra (born 3 July 1980) is an American director and producer based in Los Angeles. She is the founder of production company Meralta Films, which focuses on documentary and non-fiction work. Her father, Jag Mundhra, was also a filmmaker.

Mundhra holds a BA in English from California State University, Northridge and an MFA in film from Columbia University School of the Arts. She directed episodes of the Netflix series *Never Have I Ever* (2020) and created the reality series *Indian Matchmaking* (2020). Her documentary credits include co-directing *A Suitable Girl* (2017) and *St. Louis Superman* (2019), the latter nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Subject. She also directed the Netflix series *The Romantics* (2023) and the short *I Am Ready, Warden* (2024), which received a second Oscar nomination in the same category.
