His credits include *Blue Is the Warmest Colour* (2013), *Timbuktu* (2014), *It Must Be Heaven* (2019), *In Safe Hands* (2018) and *Pachinko* (2022). He received César Award nominations for best cinematography for *Blue Is the Warmest Colour* and won for *Timbuktu*. He is the brother of director Nadia El Fani.
