## Biography

Sofie Gråbøl is a Danish actress. She made her film debut in 1986 in *Oviri*, playing opposite Donald Sutherland, and took the lead role in the film adaptation of Tove Ditlevsen's novel *Barndommens gade* (also known as *Early Spring*), directed by Astrid Henning-Jensen. On television she has appeared in the series *Taxa* and *Nikolaj og Julie*.

Gråbøl achieved international recognition for portraying Detective Inspector Sarah Lund in the Danish crime series *The Killing* (*Forbrydelsen*, 2007–2012). The series was broadcast on BBC Four, won a BAFTA award, and brought her widespread attention in the UK. She played Catherine Stamper in the 2020 HBO miniseries *The Undoing*.

Other credits include *The Boss of It All* (2006), *Gentleman Jack* (2019) as Queen Marie, and *The Chestnut Man* (2021).
