Sonya Winton-Odamtten is an American television writer, producer and playwright. She is also credited as Sonya Winton. She previously worked as a professor at Columbia University and UCLA, and holds PhDs from Yale University.

Winton-Odamtten attended the Warner Bros. Television Writers Workshop in 2010. She has written episodes of series including *NCIS: New Orleans* (2014–2015), on which she also served as executive story editor, *Touch* (2012), *Wicked City* (2015) and *The Whole Truth* (2010–2012). She contributed teleplays to two episodes of *Lovecraft Country* (2020) and was co-executive producer on the series.

She has received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama Series for *Lovecraft Country* and a GLAAD Award nomination. In 2019 she signed an overall deal with HBO alongside writing partner Jonathan I. Kidd.
