## Biography

Sophie Fillières was a French film director and screenwriter. She graduated from La Fémis in its first promotion (direction section) in 1990. She directed her first short film, *Des filles et des chiens*, in 1991 and went on to make feature films including *Grande petite* (1994), *Aïe* (2000), *Gentille* (2005), *If You Don't, I Will* (2014), *When Margaux Meets Margaux* (2018) and *This Life of Mine* (2024).

She also wrote screenplays for other directors and appeared in acting roles, including as Monica in *Anatomy of a Fall* (2023). Fillières was married to screenwriter and director Pascal Bonitzer. She died in Paris on 31 July 2023.
