## Biography

Sophie Leigh Stone is an English stage and television actress. Born in Stepney, London, she has been deaf since birth and was the first deaf student to win a place at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), having attended Mary Hare Grammar School for the Deaf.

She is known for playing Cass in the *Doctor Who* episodes "Under the Lake" and "Before the Flood" (2015), Princess Alice in *The Crown* (2016), and Louise in *Two Doors Down*. Since 2022 she has played forensics officer Ashley Wilton in the Acorn TV series *The Chelsea Detective*.

Stone has also appeared in *Midsomer Murders*, *Shetland*, *Casualty* and *Shakespeare & Hathaway - Private Investigators*, and in theatre productions including at the National Theatre.
