## Biography

Spencer Chapman (1938–2022) was a British production designer who worked extensively in television. He began his career in repertory theatre in the 1950s before joining the BBC as a trainee designer in the early 1960s.

He is credited as production designer on the *Doctor Who* stories *The Dalek Invasion of Earth* (1964) and *The Space Museum* (1965). His other notable television credits include *The Forsyte Saga* (1967), *The Roads to Freedom* (1970) and episodes of *Tales of the Unexpected* (1979–1988). Chapman received a BAFTA nomination for his work.
