## Biography

Søren Kragh-Jacobsen is a Danish film and television director, musician and songwriter. Born in Copenhagen in 1947, he began as a musician before training at the FAMU film school in Prague. He returned to Denmark and directed television productions before making his feature debut with *Wanna See My Beautiful Navel?* (1978).

He was one of the signatories of the Dogme 95 manifesto. His Dogme film *Mifune's Last Song* (1999) brought him international recognition and won the Silver Bear Special Jury Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival. Other notable feature films include *Rubber Tarzan* (1981), *The Boys from St. Petri* (1991) and *The Island on Bird Street* (1997).

Kragh-Jacobsen has directed episodes of Danish television series including *The Eagle* (2004), *Borgen* (2010) and *Follow the Money* (2016). *The Island on Bird Street* received a Daytime Emmy Award.
