## Biography

Søren Stærmose is a Danish film and television producer. Born on 20 April 1952 in Odense, he holds a cand.mag. degree in literature and film from the University of Copenhagen. He began producing documentaries and short films in 1985 and made his feature debut as producer on *Christian* (1989).

Stærmose is best known for his work with the Swedish production company Yellow Bird on adaptations of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium novels. He produced the Swedish-language films *The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo* (2009), *The Girl Who Played with Fire* (2009) and *The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest* (2009), as well as the English-language remake *The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo* (2011) and later entries in the series. He has also produced television series including *Wallander* (2005) and *The Truth Will Out* (2018).
