## Biography

Stan Shaw is an American actor born on 14 July 1952 in Chicago, Illinois. He began his career in stage productions, appearing in the Chicago production of the musical *Hair* and the Broadway shows *The Me Nobody Knows* and *Via Galactica*.

Shaw made his feature film debut in *Truck Turner* (1974). His early film roles include Dipper in *Rocky* (1976), Private Washington in *The Boys in Company C* (1978) and Toomer Smalls in *The Great Santini* (1979). He is known for playing Big George in *Fried Green Tomatoes* (1991), as well as appearances in *Harlem Nights* (1989), *Rising Sun* (1993), *Daylight* (1996) and *Snake Eyes* (1998).

On television, Shaw portrayed Will Palmer in the miniseries *Roots: The Next Generations* (1979) and has appeared in episodes of *The X-Files*, *CSI: Crime Scene Investigation* and *Chicago Med*.
