## Biography

Stan Zimmerman is an American television writer, producer and director. He grew up in Southfield, Michigan, and studied drama at New York University, where he met his long-time writing partner James Berg. After moving to Los Angeles, the pair began writing for sitcoms.

Zimmerman and Berg wrote episodes for the first season of *The Golden Girls* (1985), including the Writers Guild of America-nominated “Rose’s Mother”. They later contributed to *Roseanne* (1988), notably the 1994 episode “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”, which earned a second WGA nomination. Zimmerman also wrote for season five of *Gilmore Girls* (2000) and co-wrote the screenplay for the 1996 film *A Very Brady Sequel*. He created and executive-produced the Lifetime series *Rita Rocks*.
